Background of the narrative

This comic is designed as the start of a new series, focusing on lighthearted entertainment and humorous storytelling. A recurring message, which will appear in every volume, is addressed to the little ones who still find the land of the pixies behind every flower box and to the grown-ups who never stopped believing in their favorite childhood stories.

The plot begins with the departure of various clans. While many groups remained in Brittany and the surrounding region, the story also depicts the migration of those clans that ventured deep into the hinterland. A specific focus is placed on those who eventually reached the forests of the Palatinate. As the series progresses, the creative team will expand, as Beate Weirich will contribute ideas and scenarios starting from the second volume.

Artistic style

With this project, Fern Weirich explores new territory, as the artistic style differs significantly from his previous work. His visual world is defined by a precise interplay of light and shadow. Instead of using color, the artist employs nuanced hatching that evokes the tradition of classic adventure comics. This design, presented in an A4 hardcover format, highlights the narrative depth of the migration and gives the story a clear graphic identity. The comic is available in both a German and a French edition.

Availability and presentation

Those interested in purchasing the volume can contact the author directly. Furthermore, there is an opportunity to see the book in person, as Fern Weirich will be present at the Pfälzer Comic-Salon from July 3rd to July 6th. Further information regarding the event and ordering options can be found on the websites of the author and the Pfälzer Comic-Salon.
