Sequential art is a complex narrative medium that extends far beyond mere entertainment. To conduct publicistic and historical discourse at a professional level, we invite freelance journalists, dedicated students, and educators to actively help shape our association. If you possess a profound knowledge of the world of bande dessinée, manga, cosplay, and anime, and can contextualize them within Luxembourgish and European history, we offer a well-founded platform for your work.
Your Scope of Responsibility
As a member of our network, you will shape our content not only at your desk but also through direct public engagement:
Proofreading and Publication (DE / FR / EN): You will manage editorial workflows and quality assurance for our articles in our print and online magazines. All contributions, reviews, and comic market analyses will be published with full author credits and precise citations, allowing you to build official and visible references for your journalistic or academic portfolio.
Sequential Art Research in Luxembourg: You will engage in targeted research into local and European comic history. Together, we will compile well-founded contributions for our compendium to sustainably document historical milestones of sequential art.
Events and Conferences: You will conceptualize, moderate, and support specialized readings, panel discussions, and conferences. This provides an ideal stage to present publicistic and historical insights, including within the framework of cross-border cooperations with international academic societies, to a broad, culture-loving audience.
Digital Communication: You will manage our newsletter and social media channels to increase our editorial reach and foster a tangible dialogue.
Your Profile & Conditions
You possess editorial acumen (acquired through study, teaching, or journalistic practice), absolute linguistic precision in the required working languages, and a deep interest in graphic literature. We are looking for dedicated team players who want to build a serious, professional, yet accessible infrastructure with us.
To apply, please submit an initial inquiry along with your current curriculum vitae (CV):
Students are kindly asked to enclose a copy of their valid student ID.
Journalists are kindly asked to enclose a copy of their press card.
📍Please note: As a non-profit association, all activities at LUXBD asbl are conducted on a strictly voluntary, honorary basis; financial remuneration is not provided. In return, we offer a far-reaching network, official publication credentials, and the opportunity to sustainably shape the archiving and critique of sequential art in Luxembourg.
