Netiquette - Clear rules for respectful interaction
(Updated on 18 November 2025)
This Community Guideline applies uniformly and without exception to all areas of https://www.luxbd.info/: forum, blog and comments, marketplace, lexicon and knowledge portal, business directory, gallery, online courses and their discussion rooms, event calendar, reviews, private messages and every other function that allows content to be uploaded or interaction with other users. It forms an integral part of the General Terms of Use and is based on applicable Luxembourg and European law, in particular the GDPR (Law of 1 August 2018), the Criminal Code, the E-Commerce Law of 14 August 2000, copyright law and the law against unfair competition. By registering and by any further use of the platform, you expressly agree to these rules.
Our linked social media channels
The official social media presences of luxbd.info (currently X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Discord, YouTube and possibly others) are primarily subject to the respective platform rules of the operators (X Corp., Meta, Discord Inc. etc.). However, we expect and promote the same respectful, factual and legally impeccable tone there as on this website. Hate speech, doxing, fraud, discrimination or other serious violations will also lead to exclusion from our community there (blocking/muting/removal) and, if necessary, to reporting to the respective platform or the Luxembourg authorities. A link to this Community Guideline is included in each of our social media profiles.
Respectful and courteous interaction
The platform https://www.luxbd.info/ sees itself as a safe, respectful and inspiring meeting place for the Luxembourg business, digital and comic community (“Ninth Art”). There is a human being behind every post, every comment and every advert – therefore always treat them the way you yourself would like to be treated. Factual disputes and differing opinions are expressly welcome and enrich the discussion, but personal attacks, insults, belittling, sarcasm with hurtful effect, mobbing, stalking or threats are strictly prohibited and lead to immediate sanctions and, if relevant under criminal law, to a report to the Police Grand-Ducale.
Prohibition of hate speech and discrimination
Any form of hate speech, discrimination on grounds of gender, origin, religion, belief, sexual orientation, age or disability, as well as any other form of degradation, violates not only this Community Guideline but also Luxembourg criminal law and will be prosecuted without compromise.
Prohibited content and criminal acts
Calls for violence, defamation, malicious gossip, fraud, phishing, scamming, the dissemination of extremist or terrorist content, child pornography, animal cruelty or other criminal material are absolutely unacceptable. Undisclosed stealth advertising, spam, chain letters and pyramid schemes are also prohibited.
Data protection and privacy
The protection of personal data has the highest priority on https://www.luxbd.info/. Publishing third-party personal information such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, photos or employer details without the express and verifiable consent of the person concerned (so-called “doxing”) is strictly prohibited and will be reported immediately. In the business directory, only public company data from the Registre de Commerce et des Sociétés (RCS) or comparable registers are displayed; personal contact details appear only after active, documented consent of the person concerned. Every user has the right at any time to information, rectification, blocking and deletion of their data – please contact contact@luxbd.info for this purpose. External content (YouTube, Google Maps etc.) is only loaded after your active consent.
Copyright and intellectual property
Works protected by copyright may only be uploaded if you own the corresponding rights or if the content has been explicitly released for free use. Quotations, images, videos and texts must always be provided with the correct source and, if applicable, licence information. Course materials, lexicon articles and gallery photos may not be distributed outside the platform.
Content quality and thematic relevance
Contributions should be factually sound, thematically appropriate and as fact-based as possible. Repeated off-topic posting, excessive capital letters, meaningless emoji floods or other spam disturb the community and will be removed without warning. Disinformation and conspiracy theories without reliable, verifiable sources are not welcome on this platform.
Special rules for the marketplace
The marketplace of https://www.luxbd.info/ serves as a platform for private classified ads and commercial offers in the context of business, digital and the Ninth Art. As a hosting provider, we are not liable for the content or transactions of users (Art. 14 DSA and E-Commerce Law), but we moderate proactively to remove illegal or misleading content. Users are solely responsible for their advertisements and must adapt them to Luxembourg consumer protection rules (Code de la Consommation, Art. L.222-3/4) and the law against unfair competition (of 14 April 1972). Advertisements must be complete, truthful and not misleading: state clear prices (incl. VAT and shipping), accurate descriptions, condition of the goods and withdrawal rights (14 days for distance contracts). Commercial sellers are obliged to identify themselves as such (e.g. with RCS number) and to provide imprint links. Illegal goods (e.g. weapons, drugs, counterfeit products, hate materials) are strictly prohibited; violations lead to immediate deletion, account blocking and reporting to the police or CNPD. Reviews may only come from actual buyers and are checked for authenticity (Omnibus Directive). In the event of disputes (e.g. returns), we recommend the ULC or ECC Luxembourg; we cooperate with official enquiries. Fraudulent practices (e.g. scams, phantom offers) are prosecuted under criminal law (Criminal Code Art. 509-1 ff.).
Technical and design requirements
Creating fake profiles, identity misuse, uploading excessively large or server-straining files, as well as any form of hacking attempts or manipulation of the platform is prohibited. Avatars and signatures may not contain prohibited symbols, hate content or elements that infringe copyright.
Moderation and sanctions
Moderation is carried out according to the principle of proportionality. In the event of violations, a warning is first issued, then posts or advertisements may be deleted, accounts temporarily or permanently blocked and, in serious cases, criminal charges filed or the CNPD informed. The moderators’ decisions are final.
